ABOUT THE ARTIST
Air Force Academy Graduate turned Veteran, Military Spouse, Mom, Traditional Artist
Glory (Smith) Paulson is a self-taught American oil painter, living and creating most of her works just north of the U.S. Air Force Academy on a ridge at the foothills in Larkspur, Colorado, where she lives with her husband (USAFA '99), four children, and several chickens, cats, and dogs.
A 2002 Air Force Academy graduate, Glory idealizes the virtues of duty, honor, character, integrity, and a love for her country. Now a veteran, she is privileged to offer the Long Blue Line Collection of oil paintings that highlight, celebrate, and honor the beauty and grandeur of the Air Force Academy.
As a cadet, Glory ran varsity cross country and track part of her time, served as a group honor chair, earned her jump wings through Army Airborne, studied in France, and participated in several projects through the political science department.
While active duty, Glory served as an Air Force Public Affairs Officer, her first three years being stationed at RAF Mildenhall in England. Global travels of her early career and life instilled in her a great appreciation of Old World beauty, history, and the classic art of oil painting.
Painting developed as a hobby through her youth, and over time, she gravitated toward traditional, slow-curing oil paints as a means of carrying on the legacy of the early oil painters and connecting to the heritage of the craftsmanship of humanity past.
Glory has offered her artwork for sale since 2020, focusing on landscapes that highlight the surrounding beauty of the Air Force Academy, Palmer Divide, Colorado, and beyond. Her Air Force Academy paintings have become popular gifts for retirements and commissions, and various forms of prints have become popular as thank you gifts to sponsors and for relocation gifts. Grads love the paintings, prints, and cards alike.
