I began and finished this small piece at the shores of DeWeese Lake Reservoir in Westcliffe, Colorado. Our family first camped there last summer then recently spent more time there. The two paddlers are my youngest children, enjoying this peaceful, serene lake, set between the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountains.
